The World Health Organization’s Strategic Advisory Group on Malaria Elimination (SAGme) has released the executive summary of its report ‘Malaria eradication: benefits, future scenarios and feasibility’.
To help countries reduce malaria burden, eliminate malaria from within their borders, and move towards the end goal of eradication, SAGme calls for focused effort in the following four areas:
- Research and development for new tools
- Access to affordable, quality people-centred health services
- Surveillance and response
- Subnational, national and regional strategies
